Heat Pump Installation in Pasadena, CA

Decided to update the HVAC in my Glendale house. The main issue was one of the back rooms — it never cooled down properly in summer and stayed colder than the rest of the house in winter. The other rooms were fine, just that one was always off. Got quotes from a few companies. Cold Cloud stood out right away. Their tech Alex showed up with a 3D scanner and did a full heat load calculation for every room. Showed me the airflow numbers on the spot and explained that the back room wasn't getting enough CFM because the duct was undersized. That's why it was always lagging behind the rest of the house. The other contractors didn't ask anything beyond square footage. Not sure how they were even planning to size the system. Cold Cloud actually knows what they're doing. Real math. They installed a Daikin FIT system and helped me get $4,000 back through the LADWP rebate. Really happy with how it turned out.

We applaud Cold Cloud Mechanical on their professionalism and outstanding service. We highly recommend them. They recently installed a new rooftop HVAC for our townhome. Every step of the way they were communicative, prompt and excelled at getting the job done. They took care of all steps, including permits and inspections. We passed the city inspection today. Alex, Roman and everyone we dealt with at Cold Cloud have provided excellent customer service. We interviewed several AC companies before selecting Cold Cloud Mechanical. We couldn't be more pleased with our decision to use Cold Cloud and would definitely use them again and have recommended them to others. In addition to hiring them for their professionalism and expertise, the equipment costs were very reasonable. We have only highly positive comments to make about the company. Thank you Alex and team!!

We recently had a new HVAC system installed by Cold Cloud, and we could not be happier with the experience. From start to finish, the entire team was professional, knowledgeable, and incredibly great to work with. I worked closely with Alex, who did a fantastic job walking us through our options, explaining the technical details clearly, and tailoring the system perfectly to our budget and needs. The level of responsiveness was outstanding—Maria was always on top of everything via email, keeping communication smooth and making sure we knew exactly what to expect at every step. They also went above and beyond by guiding us through the entire LADWP rebate process, making sure we had all the proper documentation ready to maximize our savings. If you are looking for a reliable, honest, and highly skilled HVAC contractor, I recommend Alex, Maria, and the whole Cold Cloud team.

We worked with Cold Cloud to replace our HVAC system in our condo in Sept 2025. All in all, a wonderful experience and I highly recommend them. The quote with Alex was really easy and I appreciated that they gave me two options for different tiers of equipment and that they offer to do city inspections. Everything was clear and transparent and they gave me good options to consider. Their pricing was also competitive compared to other quotes I got. The installation itself is really high quality and well done. I feel like my unit is now one of the best installed ones on the roof. My only constructive comment was that there was a bit of miscommunication during scheduling. I conveyed to their project manager and he is aware of it and they are working on streamlining and improving it. I think a simple email with the expected schedules, expected location of the crane, etc., would have helped to make sure everyone is on the same page. I recommended them already to a neighbor and they also had a good experience. The neighbor had a small drywall issue and they stood behind their work and resolved it for her without any charge so they try really hard to provide good service and to make sure you are absolutely satisfied. So to sum it up, I think they provide great equipment and great installation at good prices. Whatever small hiccups they have with scheduling or communication, they are open to feedback and improvement so overall I highly recommend working with them.

Had great experience with cold cloud mechanics, fast same day service, and priced reasonably. I had my old unit replaced with Daikin, now it’s cooling like never before

Cold Cloud Mechanical replaced my old furnace with a Daikin 17.5 SEER2 heat pump. This is hands down, the dream HVAC contractor I have ever found and worked with. Thanks to Daikin's Comfort Pro contractors list where I found Cold Cloud Mechanical! It started with Alex who came out on a Saturday late afternoon for an estimate. With Alex's engineering background, the Heat pump system was designed perfectly from the get-go. The complete transparency in pricing, scope of work, time frame and contract/warranty terms are so compelling that I signed the contract right away. This was followed by Peter's pre-installation visit (unheard of from all my previous HVAC installation experiences). Peter's brilliant idea of using an adjustable metal stand allows full compliance with local codes without additional cost of a new concrete slab. The installation team with clear instructions from Peter was simply amazing! They paid so much attention to details and really took their time to make sure everything was done correctly and professionally.

Im leaving this review after my in home estimate done by Alex. First of all, Alex was on time and professional. I have had 4 companies come out to check my ac unit and Alex was the most thorough, he not only took the time to figure out what tonnage my 34 year old system was but he also took the time to review options on his app designed for AC installations (no other company had this). He was by far the most professional and provided exemplary work. A++
