Alex Butakov and Peter Davis founded Cold Cloud Mechanical in 2023. Alex leads system design and technical standards; Peter runs installations. Together, they connect the plan on paper with the work in your home or business.
We are a California licensed contractor, CSLB #1131338, with C-20 HVAC and C-38 refrigeration classifications. Our team includes EPA Section 608 certified and NATE-certified technicians, and Cold Cloud is a Daikin Comfort Pro dealer.

Equipment is one part of a comfortable space. Sizing, airflow and the quality of the installation matter, too.

Start with the math
For a new system, we use ACCA Manual J load calculations to understand the space. When ductwork is in scope, Manual D guides the airflow and duct design. That helps address oversizing, uneven temperatures, noise and unnecessary energy use.

Plan before installation
We work through equipment placement, refrigerant line and drain routing, and electrical scope before installation begins. When permits and inspections are required, we handle them as part of the project.

Check and document
Our team checks the installed system against the design and documents the work with photos. You know what was done and have a clear record to keep with your equipment.
Installation and care, from the same team.
We install and service ducted and ductless systems, including air conditioners, furnaces and heat pumps. We work with Daikin, Mitsubishi and Fujitsu equipment, matching the system to the building and the scope of work.
As a Daikin Comfort Pro dealer, we can offer cloud monitoring on supported systems to help with diagnostics and early issue detection. Availability depends on the equipment and setup.
For repairs, we find the cause, explain what failed and give you a written price before work begins. For ongoing care, we can discuss a maintenance plan suited to your system and its use.
