HVAC Repair in Pasadena, CA

I just had a new mini-split system installed by Cold Cloud Mechanical. I couldn’t be happier. I met with 6 companies for this project and each one had a different idea for the plan. Alex’s plan was clearly the best and smartest. It was also the most complicated! I'm very impressed with the installation. Suren and Sebastian were fantastic. They executed the complicated plan brilliantly. One can hardly notice the pipes as they are all buried within walls and in closets. The condenser was placed in a place where it is hardly noticed. I highly recommend Cold Cloud for any HVAC needs. I will definitely be switching to Cold Cloud for maintenance and repair of the other systems in my house. They clearly know what they are doing.

My mini split stopped blowing cold air so I put in a request for quote on Yelp, got about five replies. Four of them sounded shady as hell, some of them not responding to my questions, not wanting to repair my system because profit margins were too low, or requesting absurd amounts of money upfront, but Cold Cloud Mechanical was super responsive and able to send someone out at no cost the day of. The technician, Alex, was super knowledgeable, noticing issues with my system and explained what fix he recommended, all that for free, meaning I could have taken the info and looked for someone else to do the repair. But the quoted price was super fair so I went with it and the repair was done by the next morning while I was at work. I'm really happy I decided to work with them, the craftsmanship was great and I'm pretty sure other companies would have charged me much more for less.

Our upstairs level gets very hot during the summer, especially in our kids' room, and so we were investigating installing a mini-split in that room. We got a number of quotes, but Alex was the only one who thoroughly measured room dimensions, air flow from each vent, etc. I was extremely impressed with his thoroughness and the amount of thought that went into his recommendations. We hired Cold Cloud, and they re-did the ductwork, installed dampers, set up a 3-zone system, and installed an air cleaner. We did not go forward with the mini-split option, and the cost for revamping the whole system was comparable to the mini-split quotes I was getting from other providers. Our house is much more comfortable, and it looks like our electricity bill is going to go down significantly as a result. Overall, I am extremely happy with the outcome. The only negative experience I had was communication with the front office - the team was hours late on the first day and the front office kept telling me that they are "really close" or "30 minutes away" multiple times. When they arrived, it turned out that a part was needed from Long Beach and they had to go get it - if the office had simply communicated that to me I would have been much more understanding of the delay. However, the team arrived on time for each subsequent day. They were very flexible with scheduling, cleaned up well after themselves, and we had minimal disruption while they worked. I especially want to highlight how amazing Alex was - if I ever need further work on my HVAC system I will definitely be reaching out to him first.

We had an excellent experience with Cold Cloud Mechanical to repair our AC unit. They responded quickly to our request, sent their Service Technician the next day who did a thorough check on what went wrong with the unit. He explained everything to us and gave us a fair estimate. We went ahead with the repair and everything is working perfectly now. I would highly recommend Cold Cloud Mechanical for any AC unit repairs.

Alex did analysis starting from the blower to the conductor. In the beginning he suspect it was the issue with signal wire, but then later he thought about it's probably with the conductor. After replacing the conductor, the compressor returned to work. In contrast to the repairman visited 1 day before, the last person couldn't fix the problem, but still charge me $165, and tried to convince me install a new system. Alex's service is professional. He fix the problem.
