Cold Cloud is a licensed HVAC contractor serving Glendale, Burbank, Pasadena, and surrounding communities. We handle residential homes, condos, multifamily properties, restaurants, offices, and light commercial spaces — from routine maintenance to full system replacement.
We work on Daikin, Mitsubishi, Fujitsu, Carrier, Trane, and most other brands. Every job starts with a real diagnostic — Manual J calculations, 3D scanning when needed — not guesswork. We take permits, documentation, and California code seriously.
We're looking for a technician who takes pride in doing the job correctly the first time. Clean workmanship, honest communication with the customer, and code-compliant results — that's the standard. 93% of our service calls are resolved on the first visit.
What you'll be doing
- Diagnose and repair residential and light commercial HVAC systems — AC, furnaces, heat pumps, mini-splits, rooftop units, VRF/VRV systems
- Perform preventive maintenance visits and system tune-ups per manufacturer specs
- Install new equipment and replace aging systems (ducted and ductless)
- Troubleshoot electrical, refrigerant, airflow, and controls issues — document findings with photos
- Handle refrigerant recovery and charging in compliance with EPA 608
- Communicate clearly with homeowners and property managers — explain what's happening and what options make sense, without pressure
- Coordinate with our team on permit pulls and city inspections when required
- Maintain a clean, organized company vehicle and stocked parts inventory
What we're looking for
- 2+ years of hands-on experience as an HVAC service technician (residential or light commercial)
- EPA 608 Universal certification preferred — we support certification for the right candidate
- Ability to independently diagnose and repair common HVAC faults: capacitors, contactors, refrigerant charge, TXV, heat exchanger cracks, airflow restrictions
- Comfortable working on split systems, mini-splits, package units, heat pumps, and gas furnaces
- Valid California driver's license and clean driving record — you'll be operating a company vehicle
- Professional, customer-facing manner: you'll be in people's homes and businesses
- Basic electrical skills: ability to read wiring diagrams and use a multimeter
- NATE certification is a plus, not a requirement
What we offer
- Company vehicle — fully stocked van with genuine OEM parts and diagnostic tools, including 3D scanning equipment for complex installs
- Health, dental & vision insurance — comprehensive coverage for full-time staff
- 401(k) with company match — after 90-day onboarding period
- Paid certifications — EPA 608, NATE prep, Daikin Pro Partner training on the company's dime
- Performance bonuses — for first-visit resolution and quality scores
- PTO + paid holidays — 10 days PTO plus 6 paid holidays per year (accrual starts after 90 days)
- No mandatory forced overtime. No slow seasons in LA.
About Cold Cloud
We've been operating since 2023 out of Glendale, CA, and hold a CSLB C-20 license (Lic. #1131338). The team is EPA 608 and NATE certified. We're a Daikin Comfort Pro Dealer and a TECH Clean California Contractor — which means we're involved in heat pump conversions and California's energy programs.
It's a small, focused team. You won't spend half your day waiting for dispatch or chasing parts. The van is stocked, the schedule is organized, and we use 3D diagnostics and Manual J calculations to take the guesswork out of complex jobs.
If the previous tech cut corners, you'll find evidence of it. We don't add to that pile.
